Owning and racing a 410 dirt sprint car is a lifelong dream for the owner of Heffner Racing Enterprises, Mike Heffner.

"I've been attending sprint car races since I was a kid and have always dreamed of owning and/or driving a car," says Heffner, president of major team sponsor Lelands.com, an online sports and pop culture memorabilia auction house.

Launching its first full season in 2009, the #27 team of Heffner Racing Enterprises has had the good fortune to work with some of sprint car racing's best drivers. In addition to Heffner and head mechanic Jim Pasquariello, the team has included veteran sprinter Sean Michael, six-time URC champion Curt Michael, National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Keith Kauffman, World of Outlaws driver Craig Dollansky, former NASCAR racer Tyler Walker, and World of Outlaws driver Daryn Pittman.

The team compete in at least 50 races throughout central PA each season, including all Keystone Cup and Pennsylvania Speedweek shows. The team also runs select ASCS and URC 360 sprint car events.

Though leading a sprint car team requires more time, money, and insider knowledge than the rookie owner anticipated, Heffner is learning as he goes and having the time of his life.

"I have never been so excited about anything," declares Heffner. "Our team hasn't been together for very long, but already these guys are like family."
